A few days later, Hound and Rosie's puppies are born. Jimi names them Bella and Duke. They look pretty similar, but Bella is a bit fluffier around the neck than Duke. They're both adorable though! Hound and Rosie are both instantly taken with their pups, and can't stop playing with them! Other than that not much is happening. Jimi has been working hard, and between work, sleep and looking after the dogs he hasn't had much time to go out and socialise. He misses his friends though, and hopes to go out to Aquarius again soon - there never seem to be any customers there, but hey, he likes the staff! |
When he gets promoted a few days later, and has a day off the next day, Jimi decides that another visit to Aquarius is in order. Once again Shamika is on the door, but this time he doesn't chat to her for long before slipping her $50 and going into the club itself. Much to his joy, Margaret is behind the bar. There is a complete lack of other patrons, as usual, so he doesn't have to worry about distracting her from her work. He wanders over to say hello, and they start chatting. And chatting. And chatting. She's just so easy to talk to! A while later he offers to tell her one of his favourite ghost stories, so they sit down in the middle of the club for the tale! As he tells the story, he suddenly notices how amazing the view is. He can see the other side of Zukutra from up there, and it looks amazing with the stars out. |
A few hours later, after more time spent chatting and flirting, Jimi finally makes his move and kisses Margaret. The club is still empty, fortunately, so they don't have to worry about who's watching! Jimi is really falling for Margaret now. She's just so nice, and funny, and sweet. Margaret seems quite taken with him too, which is fortunate! Not long after that it's 4am - time for the club to close for the night. Right before he leaves he asks Margaret if she'll go on a date with him when they next have a free day, and with no hesitation she says yes. Jimi walks home in a happy daze, plans for their date already running through his head. The dogs are there to greet him when he gets home, though they seem a bit bemused when he hugs and kisses them all in elation! He finally falls asleep at about 6am, with the sun just starting to rise. He can't decide where to go on his date with Margaret. The cinema? A restaurant? A park? Maybe the fishing spot on the other side of Zukutra? Or should he just let her decide where they go? Would that look like he hadn't bothered to make an effort? If he suggested something, would he look pushy? He really wanted this date to go well! |
Later that day, when Jimi was at work (with thoughts of Margaret and their upcoming date still running through his head), Bella and Duke grew up. They still look very similar, with Bella being slightly fluffier than Duke, and they are both still equally adventurous! They can't wait to go out and explore their world - though Rosie is a bit worried about them, and thinks maybe it would be best if she and Hound went exploring with them! Jimi meanwhile is working hard, trying to get another promotion. As well as needing money for bills and food, he also can't help thinking how nice it would be to settle down and start a family.... |
The big day has finally arrived: it's time for Jimi and Margaret's big date! He called her up at about 9am to ask her if she was still free (trying to hide the tone in his voice that showed that he'd be devastated if she wasn't!), and when she said yes they arranged to meet at the lake on the other side of Zukutra. Margaret got there just after Jimi, and they greeted each other happily. They chatted about work and music for a while, then Margaret suddenly kissed him. They flirted for a while, and then suddenly, before he even realised what he was going to say, Jimi asked her to be his girlfriend. She smiled and said yes straight away. They spent a bit more time at the lake before Margaret had to leave for work. Just before she left, she suddenly pointed behind Jimi and said "Did you see that?". Jimi, who'd been looking the other way, said no and asked what she'd seen. "I'm not sure," she said. "But it looked like a person, only with green skin". How strange! |
Later that night Jimi popped by Aquarius again, just for a quick drink. Well, for a quick drink and another chance to chat to Margaret anyway! She seemed pleased to see him, though there were other customers so she couldn't chat for too long. He spent most of the evening admiring the view (both of his new girlfriend and of the surrounding landscape!) and sipping his drink, before leaving at closing time. As he fell asleep, he though about what a wonderful day it had been - he hoped that he and Margaret would have many more like it together! |
Margaret unexpectedly popped by the next morning to see him before he went to work. Jimi was of course thrilled to see her! He introduced her to all of the dogs, and they all seemed to approve.... Just before he had to go, he blurted out "Would you like to move in?". She laughed, but when she saw that he was serious she said yes. So now Jimi and all the dogs have a new housemate - though of course she's a bit more than a housemate for Jimi! Margaret has given up her work as a mixologist and has registered as a self-employed artist. She's always loved painting, and she's thrilled that she can now make a living from it - or at least try to do so! |
